My family lived in West Jordan for a brief time a couple of years ago. It is the home to many cool places like Jordan Landing and Gardner Village. The town is just a cool and a very happening place. I really liked living there with so many things to do. The city is a very community-oriented place. The recreation department offers many sports and opportunities to coach. During the basketball season, I coached various children on the Jr. Jazz team. It was a fun way for my kids to make friends, and for them to get a good work out. They ended up having such a fun time. One of the advantages they give to you is a Jazz game voucher when you play on a Junior Jazz team or coach. Since I was a coach I was able to get tickets for the entire group. A couple of kids couldn’t go, so I was able to take two of my children, along with my husband. The Utah Jazz was playing the Clippers at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in downtown Salt Lake City that night. It was my first professional b-ball game and I was so excited! We rode in my sisters Chevrolet Tahoe and I was so glad we had it since it was snowing. On our way to the Arena, we passed The Shops At South Town Mall, Temple Square and we had a great view of the Utah State Capitol Building.
When we arrived near the arena we couldn’t any parking spots so we had to stop two or three blocks down the road. We found a parking lot and only had to pay five dollars for the night.I am almost certain he never reimbursed him! As my family and companions strolled to the Arena we passed the City Creek Mall. I remembered the first time I went to City Creek as I passed by. It was with my family the week that my child was accepting the Aaronic Priesthood and my in-laws flew in. We went to Temple Square, to the Beehive House and afterward to the City Creek Mall. We shopped at Macy’s, the Disney Store and a couple of different shops. We inevitably ended up at the Cheesecake Factory, yet clearly many other individuals did to. There was around a two and a half hour wait to enjoy their food. It couldn’t believe people really wait that long for an ok restaurant! Needless to say, we went to Kneaders Bakery and Cafe instead.
Anyway, after we passed the Mall we at last found the Jazz Arena. We strolled up to the security office and showed them our tickets. We went right through and then found our seats in nose bleed section. We arrived early so everybody had a chance to look at the sports merchandise in the Jazz store. All the boys rushed to the ground floor because they were so eager to buy up all the cool stuff. In addition to the Jazz store, they had a Chick-fil-A, Sports Bars, and R&R. The BBQ from R and R smelled astonishing! When we got to the Merch Shop, we saw a wide range of cool things we needed. I needed some Athletic running pants but they were too expensive. No one really bought anything except one of the boys bought a blue hat with the Jazz logo on it. He now wears it all the time.
As we heard the horn announcing the game starting we grabbed our beverages and popcorn and rushed to our seats. We sat down and watched Rudy Gobert and Blake Griffin fight for the Tip-off. Jazz kicked it into high gear right away. Donovan Mitchell was really on fire that night. I think he made 40 points throughout the game. Joe Ingles hit what seemed like seven three-pointers. Overall, the Jazz team played really well and It was an extremely fun night. Afterward, we got Ice cream and hot cocoa. On the ride home, all the boys watched Youtube videos and played games on their phones. It was fun to hear their laughs. At the end of the night, we were tired and so glad to be back in West Jordan.
